Sprout’s Local Musician of the Month: Beth Goldwater - May

May:

Beth Goldwater

Genre: Jazz Folk
Hometown: Wayne,Pa

Sprout Music Collective’s featured artist of the month is singer songwriter Beth Goldwater. Beth’s roots are in the acoustic genre, but her newest record features a pleasing mix of jazz/folk. Beth’s angelic voice is complemented by the soft and sweet melodies from her piano and guitar.

Her French and English lyrics are unique and thoughtful. She describes her music as something that could be heard on Sirius Sinatra or Coffeehouse. She is an enthusiastic artist who is eager to share her music. Beth has performed at a number of venues for some truly memorable audiences. She had the opportunity to open for folk inspired musician Suzanne Vega on World Cafe Live at the Queen’s Main Stage. She also enjoys playing smaller venues such as Burlap & Bean because of the intimate audience and beautiful listening room.

She feels the local music scene is growing organically and it is something she is proud to be a part of. Her advice to anyone who is looking to pursue a music career is “to be yourself and what you want to express. Write your story. Play and perform for the joy of playing. Be nice to everyone. Be professional. Be brave.” As a music enthusiast I strongly suggest supporting this inspiring local artist at her next evening show at Sprout Music Collective, on May 14th.
